The host of the world’s tastes, Istanbul continues to keep this precious treasure inherited from the past. These secret tastes that you can encounter in almost every alleyway in Istanbul are waiting to be discovered to revive the connection between the past and the present.

PİDE BAN Located at the center of Sarıyer, Pide Ban is a restaurant especially famous for its foods and pides originating from the Black Sea region. Among the wide variety of pides including minced meat, garlic sausage, fried meat and mixed pide, you should choose the Giresun style round pide with cheese, garlic sausage and eggs. Besides pides, Giresun Döner is also one of the most preferred tastes in Pide Ban. Roasted döner, mashed potatoes and pickled peppers create a perfect harmony of taste in pide bread. Apart from Sarıyer, Pide Ban has branches in Çayırbaşı, Maden, Etiler and Koç University.

FICCIN In this cute restaurant located just off Istiklal Street on Kallavi Street, the special and local Caucasian tastes are served to the guests. The chicken soup, Tulen, which has a unique fragrance, is one of the tastes that should be tried in the restaurant. Giving its name to the restaurant, Fıccın is a kind of Circassian pastry. It is prepared by spreading a flavored mixture with minced meat over a kind of salty cake dough and it is baked in the oven like pizza.

FÜREYYA Situated on an active street corner which is located a few meters away from Galata, Füreyya provides more delicious and economic alternatives in comparison with the other fish restaurants in Istanbul. In its modest menus, you can find all kinds of fish, usually chargrilled or roasted with flour. Fish patties, Turkish ravioli with fish and wraps with fish can also be found on the menu.

ZİNNET It gives us a great pleasure to discover Zinnet which is located in Kültür Park situated just outside the Topkapı city walls, and where you can find healthy Central Asian foods thanks to the closeness of Turkey to this region and the strong ethnic bonds between them. The restaurant was operated by an Uyghur family who came from the city of Urumqi located in the west of China, and their menu includes the best foods of the Silk Road. Chuchure soup is among the stars of the menu. Uyghur ravioli also tastes perfect. The foods are a little expensive in spite of the village environment of the restaurant; however it is an ideal alternative when exploring new tastes.
