Electric Electronic and Service Exporters Association (TET) has held "Passenger Services Export Strategy Workshop". During the workshop, strategic plans regarding export/currency contributing of the sector and future projects, objectives, vision and strategic priorities were determined. Within the scope of 2023 Service Exportation Strategy Project conducted by the Ministry of Finance the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) and the Electric Electronic and Service Exporters Association (TET) carry on their work. TET starting a series of workshops in order to create a 2023 National Service Exportation Strategy Document participated by the sector’s partners has realized a “Passenger Transportation Services Strategy Workshop” in June 2016. Dr. Fatih Kemal Ebiclioglu, President of TET’s Board of Directors, “Turkey has developed a lot in the last ten years in passenger transportation domain. It is possible to mention in the world a market of 955 billion dollars transportation service trading. We can say that airline transport has an important share in this. Especially in the last 10 years big progress was made in Turkey in the field of airline transport. When checked airline transport, passenger transportation exportation figures on countries basis, we see that Turkey is at the 4th rank with 7,9 billion dollars”, said at the opening speech. According to Ebiclioglu, “The number of airline companies carrying passengers to the departures was only two in 2003 and is six today. In 2003 the airline companies were only flying to 60 international destinations and today to 258. Turkey’s domestic and international total number of passengers was 33 million 756 in 2002 and today it reached to 165 million 720 with an increase of almost 400%. The airline transportation is at increase trend since 2002. These figures show us we can reach a 150 billion target in 2023 in the sector”.
