The highest offer for hiring the Third Airport in İstanbul for 25 years was given by Limak İnş. San. ve Tic. A.Ş./Kolin İnş. Tur. San. ve Tic. A.Ş./Cengiz İnş. San. ve Tic. A.Ş./Mapa İnş. ve Tic. A.Ş./ Kalyon İnş. San. ve Tic. A.Ş. Joint Adventure Group as 22 billion 152 million Euro in the auction. The amount reaches 26 billion Euro when VAT is added. This amount made history as the highest offer given in a tender within the history of the Republic. In his speech about the airport, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that existing airports did not meet the requirements and the airport to be constructed would be above and beyond the potential needs with five runways, terminal buildings and numerous boarding bridges. Erdoğan also highligted that the Third Airport would be talked about all over the world.
