According to the figures received from the Directorate General of Merchant Marine, the number of ships docking the ports of Turkey in 2014 decreased by 1.7 percent while the number of vehicles transported by Ro-Ro ships increased by 6.6 percent. According to the figures received from the Directorate General of Merchant Marine, the number of ships docking the ports of Turkey in 2014 decreased by 1.7 percent to 5,652. Out of this figure, 2,836 consisted of Turkish flagged ships and the remaining 2,816 consisted of foreign flagged ships. In addition to this, the total weight of the ships docking the ports achieved 56.9 million tonnes. On the other hand, the number of the vehicles transported by the ships docking Turkish ports increased by 6.6 percent in 2014. According to this, 465,555 vehicles were transported by 2,855 Ro-Ro ships docking at Turkish ports. A total of 236,166 of these vehicles consisted of arriving vehicles and the remaining 229,389 consisted of departing vehicles.
