Istanbul traffic density increases every passing day. Founded by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, ISPARK expands the parking capacity with its Polipark system that allows parking up to 8 vehicles in the place of 2. The mechanical system similar to a Ferris wheel will help decrease Istanbul's traffic density. Traffic density is one of the most critical issues for today’s megacities across the world. Istanbul has over 19 million registered vehicles which 3,2 of join traffic every day. Even though the parking capacity is for thousands of vehicles, it remains insufficient. The inadequacy requires parking lot infrastructure to be enhanced with innovative technological solutions that enable vehicles to be stacked vertically under or above the ground. The system resembling to a Ferris wheel is expected to resolve Istanbulites’ biggest problem. Cars are parked in the cabins of the rotary system. The system takes two minutes to complete a rotation and the parking process becomes completed. This innovative technology that is used with a remote control increases the total parking capacity and reduces the time spent on parking. Developed with 10 years of R&D efforts, the system can be easily mounted and transported. Rotary system reduces the occupied space and increases the parking capacity. It is a major component of the efforts to move the parking spaces underground and minimize their environmental effects to improve standards of living space and increase green investments. Politeknik General Manager Fazil Ozen; ‘’It is impossible to create a 30 million m2 parking space in a city with such density as Istanbul. The physical inadequacy requires the use of technology which will provide Istanbul its long deserved, modern parking space management that includes up to date parking systems. In cities where the space for parking is scarce, the demand is high and also the land costs are increasing, technologic parking systems prove to be worthy solutions. Outdoor parking lots occupy a space of 17-18 m2 for a single car to be parked, this number increases to 30 with entrance and exit additions in indoor car parks while technological parking systems require only 2-3 m2 space. As for space, technological parking lots are 6 times more efficient than open parks and 10 times more efficient than ferroconcrete multi story parking garages. THE SYSTEM ALSO RESOLVES THE TRAFFIC PROBLEM Thanks to the closed modular system, the vehicles are protected against weather conditions such as rain or snow and secured against interference such as theft or scratching. The new technology will minimize problems such as heavy traffic, time loss caused by the increased population and also decrease the problems related to heavy traffic government buildings such as schools, hospitals, banks and courthouses that are located in city centers create. Ferris wheel alike parking systems will lower the traffic jam related problems and the car confluence in the avenues and streets and facilitate driving for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks. This system that aims to stack more cars in narrow spaces was implemented in projects such as Carlift (mechanical car parking system), Combilift, (semi-automatic car parking system) and Ferris Wheel Parking by ISPARK in Eminonu, Kadikoy, Kartal, Bezmialem, Eminonu Mercan and Maslak open air parking lots, Cihangir, Merter, Gungoren Haznedar, Darussafaka and Haciosman multi story car parks and Old Tuesday Bazaar and Kadikoy Faik Bey parking lots. Electromechanical Car Parking System establishes its own ecosystem inclusive of local project design, production, aftersales support and maintenance network for its solutions. This ecosystem prevents the damages that may emerge from unplanned and costly positioning of unmanned full automatic systems across the city. THE AIM IS TO EXPAND INTERNATIONALLY An engineering product, this system will contribute to both national economy and the unemployment problem. ISPARK plans to expand Polipark systems internationally by establishing franchises. Polipark is expected to go mass production depending on the nation’s necessities and export priorities. Polipark R&D unit is also working on Park it – Charge it systems in parallel with global trend towards electric automobiles. However for the industry to grow further, a new legislation based on today’s needs is heavily required. POLITEKNIK GENERAL MANAGER FAZIL OZEN: Poliparks that are produced with utility model patent can increase the current parking capacity by 600 percent. These car parks return fully on investment within 1, 2 years. With Polipark, the cost per vehicle varies from 5,000 USD to 15,000 USD depending on the required features. So far the user feedbacks are positive. The system protects the vehicles against outer conditions such as dust or rain and also prevents negative actions such as theft and scratching. Security is another reason of preference for drivers to use our products. We contribute to the industry with our 10 years of R&D efforts that produced .pr oducts such as; . Lift Polipark . Tunnel Polipark . Pocket Polipark . Rubic Polipark 8 and 12 vehicle Vertical Polipark
