Energy Market
Turkey's electricity consumption in the first 10 months of 2013 increased to 202.9 billion kWh by 0.6 percent compared to the same period the previous year. On the other hand, electricity generation's 66 percent was held by private sector and 33 percent was held by the state. Turkey's total installed power capacity which was 57GW by the end of 2012 raised to 62GW by the end of October. The offers to be collected during January and February 2014, Kemerköy, Yeniköy, Çatalağzı and Yatağan thermal power plants are expected to continue with privatization.
Construction Sector
International construction industry magazine ENR ( Engineering News Record )'s " World's Top 225 International Contractors 2012 List" based on incomes of 'activities outside their countries in the previous year, 33 Turkish contractors out of 225 companies were in the list. Although in this year's "Top 250" list, Turkey was the second runner up with an increased number of 38. China was the first in the list with 55 and U.S. was the third with 34 firms.
Tourism Sector
According to the TSI , tourism revenues increased to 24.5 billion U.S. dollars by 13 percent in the first 9 months of 2013 compared to the same period of the previous year. Visitor's average expenditure was around U.S. $789 per person. The number of visitors coming to Turkey in the first nine months increased to 31.1 million people by 7 percent compared to the same period of previous year.
