According to the Monthly Economy Report of IMSAD (Association of Turkish Construction Material Producers), real estate sales to foreigners increased by 41.7 percent and reached USD 4.32 billion in 2014. In the real estate sales which increased by 55.6 percent and reached 18,959 apartments, Antalya became the first province which had the highest number of property sales. While the number of property sales to foreigners was 6,542 in Antalya, Istanbul had second place with 5,580 apartments and Aydın had third place with 1,191 apartments. On the other hand, Istanbul had the biggest increase compared to last year. In the aforesaid report, when the number of the apartments in receipt of construction permits in 2014 is considered, an increase of 24.5 percent was realized in this industry and the number reached 1,009,804. Thus, the number of the apartments in receipt of construction permits exceeded 1 million for the first time. In addition to this, the number of the apartments in receipt of occupancy permits in 2014 increased by 9.8 percent, compared to the same period of 2013, to reach 763,910.
