“HEALTH FIRST” PROJECT
which is realized under the coordinatorship of TIKAV (Turkey Human Resources, Education and Health Foundation) founded by Akfen Holding in 17 different rural regions of Turkey in 2018 where Akfen Renewable Energy company has electricity generation plants, is going full speed. Within the scope of the project, applied seminars are given to women who attend the educations on first aid, basic health, cancer screening, examination routines, gynecological diseases and organ donation.
While 1000 women were reached last year at 15 different regions by “We Are Home Schooled” project focusing on 0-6 age children’s development, this year’s goal is to reach 1.200 women with the designated theme “health”. The project’s seventh activity was held at Konya Metropolitan Municipality Additional Service Building in Eregli Zengen District where Yaysun solar energy power plant (SEP) is located and eighth meeting was held at Yahyali Balcicakiri Primary School in Kayseri where Camlica hydroelectric power plant (HPP) is located. Over 200 women attended these meetings.
THE TARGET IS TO REACH 1.200 WOMEN TIKAV
Chairwoman Sultan Yilmaz stated that with the educations organized every year, they aimed to raise awareness on various topics for women whom are considered the basis for the family. Stating that the “Health First” program played a life-saving role in first aid, early diagnosis and treatment, Yılmaz said, “We especially aim to increase the quality of life of women who live in rural regions by bringing them this education.
It is only possible to create awareness for every member of the household by educating women. We estimate we will reach at least 1200 women on 17 different regions by the end of the year.
