According to the aviation figures of 2014 December introduced by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), a great increase was achieved regarding the number of aircrafts and passengers receiving service in total plane and overflight traffic. According to the December 2014 figures introduced by the DHMI, the total air traffic of airports increased by 8.2 percent to 56,761 in domestic flights and increased by 9.4 percent to 36,213 in international flights in December compared to the same month of the previous year. Thus, total air traffic increased by 8.6 percent to 92,974 compared to December 2013. In addition to this, overflight traffic in Turkish Airspace increased by 21.4 percent to 26,647 in December and the number of aircrafts receiving service increased by 11 percent to 119,621. As per these figures, in total, 10,908,892 passengers received service across all airports in December and the total number of passengers increased by 6.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. During this period, the number of passengers reached 6,664,364 with an increase of 13.3 percent in domestic flights and 4,244,528 with an increase of 13.2 percent in international flights. On the other hand, in December 2014, a total of 4,476,000 arriving and departing passengers in Atatürk Airport, 694,000 passengers in Antalya Airport, 806,000 passengers in Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport and 907,000 passengers in Ankara Esenboga Airport received service.
