The introductory ceremony for the expansion project of Mersin Port was held in Istanbul. The introductory ceremony for the Expansion Project of Mersin Port, foundations of which were laid in September, and for which an investment worth $160 million is being planned, took place in Istanbul. The Chairman of Akfen Holding Executive Board Hamdi Akın, the Regional CEO Europe, Mediterranean at PSA David Yang, the CEO at Akfen Holding Süha Güçsav, General Director of Mersin International Port İbrahim Hakkı Tas and senior executives of PSA, Akfen and MIP attended the ceremony. The largest container ships around the world with 400 m length and 16 drafts will be able to berth at Mersin International Port when the Mersin Port Expansion Project is completed. The current 2 million TEU capacity of Mersin International Port will reach 2.6 million TEU with the investment planned to be completed in one and a half year.
