The ceremony for XI. The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Program National Gold Award’ was held in attendance of United Kingdom Earl of Wessex Prince Edward KG KCVO on is organized with Akfen Holding's support. United Kingdom Earl of Wessex Prince Edward KG KCVO presented the 21 golden award winner participants that successfully completed the Duke of Edinburgh International Award Program their certificates. Executives of TIKAV and the Private Anabilim Educational Institution were also awarded for their successful implementation of the award program. TIKAV Chairwoman Sultan Yilmaz, Akfen board member Pelin Akin, provincial national education protocol and executives of the participating bodies also attended the event. During his speech in the ceremony, Earl of Wessex said: “First of all, I would like to thank all of the participants who were awarded here tonight. I believe the most challenging moment was the moment of coming up here and receive the award. You can relax now. I think this was a very beneficial and long experience for all of you. I would like to also thank, award leaders and parents who supported the students. Welcome to our little golden award family. I think that you will make a difference in your life from now on. Everyone can say they can succeed in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Program but cannot. Making comments following the award ceremony, Pelin Akın stated: “Prosperity and economic development in Turkey will increase by young generations’ self-development efforts. The chance of a young person who is aware of his skills and pushing boundaries to find the right job at the right moment is much more possible than a person that did not spend time on himself. The high rate of unemployment in Turkey is partly because of not making efficient talent appointments for the right work. I find the program very important and helpful to help one to know himself better.
