The number of passengers transported in Turkish coastal lines in the first 5 months of 2014 remained at 58.2 million passengers with a 10 percent decline. T he number of passengers transported in the coastal line increased by 59 percent and the amount of passengers increased by 43 percent in 2012 compared with the year 2003. Regarding the end of 2013, the amount of passengers is expected to increase by 69 percent. After the discounts in port, lighthouse and lifeboat fees, number of people visiting the ports increased by 267 percent compared to the year 2013 and the vessels touching at a port increased by 90%.
