“For foreign visitors from Eastern Europe, Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic, we will be able to catch holiday periods spanning 120 days. Especially considering that we are far ahead in terms of health infrastructure when we compare our country with rest of Europe, I think that local tourists will not tend to have a holiday abroad this season. Also, before the air transportation between countries starts, the internationally accepted certification process in tourism regions will be initiated under the chairmanship of our Ministry of Culture and Tourism. So it should take first place in the ranking as a safe country for holidays Turkey will provide great advantage for us. “
COSTS WILL INCREASE DUE TO HYGIENE MEASURES
After stating that they expect an increase in tourism in July, if the epidemic is brought under control in the short term, TÜRSAB President Firuz Bağkaya underlines that Coronavirus has brought along and will continue to bring serious changes in people’s habits. Underlining the importance of travel agencies is understood in this period, Bağkaya emphasizes that the sensitivity of health and hygiene will become more prominent from now on.
In parallel, demands for such as solo vacations, boutique hotels, personalized packages, which have already increased in recent years, are expected to gain momentum with this process. Stating that in this period, where people will be expected to stay away from crowded places, Bagkaya said that the interest in the facilities and areas where there are fewer people such as boutique hotels or a la carte restaurants will increase and also here are his comments on whether or the all-inclusive concept will continue or not:
“Our hotels took the decision to remove the open buffets before the outbreak of Coronavirus was seen in Turkey. I believe that after the outbreak has been brought under control, all our hotels will continue to operate within their existing systems by paying maximum attention to the necessary hygiene conditions. In this sense, the “All-Inclusive” system will also continue.”
So how will Coronavirus affect hotel prices? Sururi Çorabatır expresses his expectation on this issue with the following words: “In the next season, the expectations of our guests regarding to hygiene will increase. Therefore, hygiene measures to be taken with the arrival of the virus will cause the costs to increase. This can also lead to price increases at different rates depending on hotels and demand.”
