In January-February 2014, electricity consumption in Turkey has increased by 3.5 percent compared to the previous year. The increasing electricity consumption in Turkey during the first two months of 2014 has been provided by the private sector by 71 percent and by the state by 29 percent. Turkey’s total installed power capacity has reached 64.268 MW by the end of February. In 2013 a total of 245.5 billion kwh electricity had been consumed, 67 percent of electricity generation had been carried out by the private sector and 33 percent by the state.
